Why?
“It’s better to understand than to be understood.”
-St.Francis
- By recognizing the diversity of America and the world in the classroom, we are able to see the similarities we have. An equal respectfulness can be obtained once you understand how things came to be and how to move forward.
2. Students should feel safe and secure in and out schools by recognizing supports that validate their concerns
3. The unprecedented violence since the Columbine High School Massacre and increase in drug use/addiction is a reality that we Americans have to deal with. We need to understand the signs, acknowledge students’ needs, and what protocols/strategies can be implemented immediately that New York State law provides.
